The Tennessee Valley Authority is requesting offers for up to 2,000 Swine Renewable Energy Credits annually, 7,500 Poultry RECs, and 30,000 Biomass RECs that meet the North Carolina Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard for Compliance Year 2023 and foreseeable future.
Offers must be submitted through the TVA website by May 10, 2024. TVA's request is posted at tva.com/information/doing-business-with-tva.
Swine, Poultry, and Biomass RECs are associated with electricity generated by waste-fueled facilities properly registered with the state of North Carolina.
TVA is a national leader in carbon reduction with nearly 60% carbon-free energy generation. Currently, TVA has over 8,000 megawatts of renewable energy in its portfolio. Adding North Carolina Swine, Poultry, and Biomass RECs are one way TVA continues to be in the top quartile for renewable energy production in the southeast United States.
