VOLTALIA
Voltalia sells a 28-megawatt ready-to-build wind project together with construction and maintenance services

September 1, 2020

Voltalia (Euronext Paris, ISIN code: FR0011995588), an international player in renewable energies, announces the sale to Japanese construction firm TODA of a ready-to-build wind project (28 megawatts) located in Voltalia's Serra Branca cluster, in Brazil. Voltalia will also carry out construction, operation, maintenance and administrative services for TODA.

"Thanks to our high-quality pipeline of projects and our integrated model we are able to sell projects at different stages: ready to build, during construction or post construction. Under the agreements signed with TODA, our teams provide a full-scope of solutions including the Development, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), O&M (Operation and Maintenance) and AM (Asset Management, as per the Greensolver business model) of the future wind farm", comments Sébastien Clerc, Chief Executive Officer of Voltalia.

Successfully developing another wind farm in Voltalia's Serra Branca cluster

The TODA project is in Voltalia's Serra Branca cluster, the world's biggest wind-and-solar cluster. The site covers approximately 40,000 hectares, within a 50-by-15 kilometres area. The Serra Branca cluster accommodates a grid connection infrastructure of more than 2.4 gigawatts developed and built by Voltalia, servicing 0.8 gigawatt of Voltalia wind plants in operation and construction, 0.3 gigawatt of Voltalia solar projects with contracts already secured, 0.7 gigawatt of wind plants sold to partners (including TODA), and 0.7 gigawatt of further potential to be sold to partners or kept by Voltalia.

A services contract covering a large scope

The construction of the new wind farm is planned to start this year with commercial operation expected in July 2021.

At this time, an eight-year contract will start with Voltalia providing operation and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure such as medium voltage networks, substations and transmission lines.

Voltalia will also perform supervision services of the wind farm, including analyses of the turbines' performance, and administrative management of the asset. This broad scope of services encompasses technical and administrative services typically provided in Europe by Greensolver, a Voltalia subsidiary.

Early development sales were recognized by Voltalia during the first semester of 2020, with additional development and construction services revenues to be recognized in the coming quarters, and maintenance revenues to be recognized over the long term.

...supported by a new state-of-the-art Wind Centre of Operations

Voltalia will deliver its operation services thanks to its new Centre of Operations located in Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, which will be 100% operational in the coming months.

This Centre will be responsible for the monitoring and operation of wind farms worldwide and will maximize the energy production of both Voltalia's wind farms and that of its clients.
