JWPA (Japan Wind Power Association) and GWEC (Global Wind Energy Council) will hold the 3rd "Global Offshore Wind Summit-Japan" (GOWS-J) in Kitakyushu City in October 2023. .
Last year's event in Akita was a great success with more than 700 participants from Japan and abroad. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported and participated in this event.
In Kitakyushu City, the venue for this year's event, the construction of an offshore wind farm at the port will start this year. In the same Kyushu region, Goto City offshore wind power generation (floating) has already started in the public offering (Round 1) for the use of renewable energy in the sea area, and round 2 public offering is underway off the coast of Eshima, Saikai City, Nagasaki Prefecture. . In addition, in this region, two sea areas have been designated as sea areas that have progressed to a certain preparatory stage, and it is also an advanced area for offshore wind power generation in Japan. Kitakyushu City, which plays a central role in the region as a designated base port, can be said to be a city suitable for hosting GOWS-J.
GOWS-J 2023 will bring a wealth of technology and knowledge on offshore wind power generation around the world to everyone who participates in this event, as well as provide opportunities for international exchanges for those involved.
In addition to the city of Kitakyushu, which hosts the event, we will also seek the cooperation of local governments in the northern Kyushu region to contribute to local industries in Japan and promote local understanding in the development area. For GOWS-J 2023, the event content will be more complete than last year. We look forward to welcoming you all as one of the most comprehensive events in Japan. At the Global Offshore Wind Summit-Japan 2023 (GOWS-J 2023), as a conference program, expert lectures and panel discussions on offshore wind power generation from Japan and overseas will be provided at the Kitakyushu International Conference Center (1st venue). To do.
