ISGT ME 2023 Conference will be hosted by Khalifa University Main Campus, Abu Dhabi, UAE on March 12-15, 2023.

Under the theme, "Secure and Resilient Smart Grids" the Conference will gather academics and industry experts to promote and discuss innovations and developments in the field of smart grid technology and applications, and address new challenges,, share solutions and talk about future research directions of the interface of technology, information, and complex systems.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

The aim of the IEEE-PES ISGT-ME Conference is to provide an international forum for experts to promote, share, and discuss innovations and developments in the field of smart grid technologies and applications.

The academic and industrial community will address new challenges and share solutions at the interface of technology, information, and complex systems, and discuss future research directions.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

DR. CLAUDIO CANIZARES
Dr. Claudio Cañizares is a University Professor and the Hydro One Endowed Chair at the Electrical and Computer Engineering (E&CE) Department, and the Executive Director of the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE) at the University of Waterloo, where he has held various academic and administrative positions since 1993 and has received multiple recognitions, especially the 2021-2022 Awards of Excellence in Graduate Supervision at both the University and Faculty of Engineering levels.

Bruce Stedall is the Asset Management Director of the Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (TRANSCO), which is responsible for water and electricity transmission systems in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates.

DR. SHAY BAHRAMIRAD
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING, ASSET MANAGEMENT, AND CAPITAL PROGRAMS AT LUMA ENERGY, PUERTO RICO; IEEE-PES PRESIDENT-ELECT
Dr. Shay Bahramirad is the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Asset Management, and Capital Programs at LUMA Energy, the power company responsible for electric service in Puerto Rico. In this role, she is responsible for the oversight, planning, and execution of plans to modernize the power infrastructure. This includes a foundation of developing local engineering talent, teams and processes, and the prudent application of new technology. Her primary goals are the safe, reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective delivery of electricity to the people of Puerto Rico.

PROF. IGOR KUZLE
Prof. Igor Kuzle is a Full professor and Head of the Smart Grids Laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. He is a full member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering and a member of two scientific councils of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

BIKASH PAL
PROFESSOR OF POWER SYSTEMS AT IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON (ICL).

Speaker: Bikash Pal is a Professor of Power Systems at Imperial College London (ICL). He is research active in power system stability, control, and estimation. Currently is leading a six university UK-China research consortium on Resilient Operation of Sustainable Energy Systems (ROSES) as part of EPSRC-NSFC Programme on Sustainable Energy Supply.
