TARQUTI ENERGY
Laureate of the 2024 Community Energy Initiative

June 21, 2024

On June 12, 2024, Tarquti Energy was awarded the 2024 Award for Community Energy Initiative at the Renewable Energy Recognition Gala, which was organized by NERGICA as part of the Colloque des énergies renouvelables du Québec. The Community Energy Initiative is an award that recognizes inspiring community energy initiatives across Quebec.

For the occasion, several members of Tarquti were present in Carleton-sur-Mer to receive the award: shareholders's representatives, from Ilagiisaq, Mark Blair and Michael Cameron, Tarquti's Director General Joë Lance, Community Partnerships and Business Development Director Andy Pirti, Community Energy  Champions Eugene Putugu and Johnny Nassak, and Project Development Director Justin Bulota.

The laureates were nominated by a panel of judges based on innovation, complexity, and sustainability. As part of the Community Energy Initiative, the judges were inspired by Tarquti's mainspring and the significant impact of their work in leading the energy transition in Nunavik and beyond. Through its dedication to ensuring all socio-economic benefits of projects stay in Nunavik and building Nunavimmiut's capacity, Tarquti is laying the foundations for a sustainable energy future for all Nunavik communities.
