Linxon and Energy Transition Capital ("ETC") are proud to announce the execution of a strategic partnership agreement to jointly advance the development, engineering, optimization, and execution planning of a portfolio of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems ("BESS") and co-located agrivoltaic generation projects (the "Portfolio") across ten locations in Puerto Rico.
The Portfolio represents approximately 200 MW of effective generation capacity with the ability to dispatch up to 599 MW of capacity during peak load events. This positions the Portfolio among the fastest-to-deploy energy solutions available to assist Puerto Rico in addressing its ongoing energy emergency.
Designed to support Puerto Rico's energy transformation and resilience objectives, the fully dispatchable Portfolio integrates BESS with co-located agrivoltaic generation, high-voltage interconnection infrastructure, and modern grid-stabilizing capabilities. Together, these resources will provide reliable and dispatchable power, improve grid stability, and strengthen Puerto Rico's long-term energy security.
The Portfolio's agrivoltaic design also seeks to preserve agricultural land and promote expansion of agricultural activity enabled by energy generation, supporting Puerto Rico's broader goals of strengthening food security and revitalizing its agricultural economy.
Under the agreement, ETC and Linxon will collaborate throughout the development, engineering, commercial structuring, and execution planning phases of the projects. The partnership combines ETC's affiliated, Puerto Rico-based and focused development platform, Coquí Power's project development experience, local market knowledge, and Puerto Rico-based capabilities with Linxon's globally recognized expertise in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of complex energy infrastructure.
"Puerto Rico is experiencing one of the most significant energy transformations in North America," said Nicolas Sanloup, President and Managing Director Americas at Linxon. "This strategic partnership with ETC represents a major milestone in our commitment to the island and its future. Together, we are creating a platform capable of delivering large-scale energy infrastructure that will strengthen grid reliability, accelerate decarbonization, and support long-term economic growth across Puerto Rico."
The partnership is intended to accelerate project readiness and bring together development, engineering, procurement, constructability, supply chain and execution expertise from the earliest stages of the project lifecycle through construction completion and into commercial operations.
"Puerto Rico urgently needs new dispatchable generation resources that are reliable, affordable, and capable of strengthening the electric system," said Daniel Fuller, Chief Investment Officer for Energy Transition Capital. "This partnership brings together ETC's long-term investment commitment, Coquí Power's development expertise and deep knowledge of Puerto Rico, and Linxon's world-class EPC execution, risk management, and financial capabilities. Together, we are building the partnership necessary to deliver critical energy infrastructure for the benefit of Puerto Rico's people, communities, and businesses."
The collaboration reflects both companies' commitment to supporting Puerto Rico's energy transformation while encouraging local investment, job creation, infrastructure development, and long-term economic growth.
As Puerto Rico continues to modernize and strengthen its electric system, ETC and Linxon are committed to advancing projects that can provide reliable, affordable, and secure energy that support the island's energy and economic-development objectives.
