Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) recently honored local developers, contractors and municipalities who have helped the company achieve success with their electric vehicle infrastructure and incentive programs at its first annual "E-Mobility Awards" ceremony.
At a luncheon held at the Pearl River Hilton, O&R's E-Mobility team recognized 10 honorees from New York and New Jersey for their commitment to the clean energy future by assisting with the installation of thousands of commercial and residential electric vehicle chargers throughout the O&R service territory.
"Without the tremendous support of leadership within the communities we represent, as well as local businesses, we would not be able to provide our customers with the electric vehicle infrastructure they need and desire," said Andrew Farrell, O&R's director of E-Mobility.
He added, "To be able to recognize various municipalities and contractors for their role in increasing EV infrastructure is a testament to the clean energy vision we share together."

The accolades recognized various accomplishments, such as contractors who have assisted with the most at-home charging solutions, contractors who've installed the highest number of public charging stations, and contractors who've installed the most charging infrastructure in disadvantaged communities (DACs).
The Village of Florida was recognized with the "Local EV Infrastructure Excellence Award," which was presented to the municipality that installed the highest number of EV chargers throughout the service area while proactively promoting eco-friendly transportation and reducing carbon emissions.
"We are honored to receive this award from Orange and Rockland. Our forward-thinking partnership not only provides our residents with clean energy charging options, but also helps protect our environment as well," said Florida mayor Daniel Harter, Jr.
