Mohawk College has installed more than 1,900 solar panels at the Fennell campus to help power what will be Canada's largest net zero institutional building.
The Province tannounced a $7.4 million investment that will further shrink Mohawk's carbon footprint, reduce energy bills and create new learning opportunities for students. Over the next year, Mohawk will install an electric boiler, upgrade 3 natural gas boilers, add a trailer-sized battery to store electricity at off-peak hours, build a solar panel carport and add 16 more electric vehicle charging stations.
