Eversource's solar program is powering forward with the completion and connection of the energy company's newest canopy style solar facility at the company's corporate office in Westwood. Eversource now has a dozen new universal solar sites producing electricity in Massachusetts, as the company continues toward its goal of bringing an additional 62 megawatts of renewable energy to the commonwealth by 2019.

These include creating local union construction jobs, clean energy for residents, and significant property tax revenues for years to come."
The company's four solar canopies in Westwood are now providing 360 kilowatts of green energy through over 900 solar panels, enough energy to power close to 60 homes and save close to 190 metric tons of carbon emissions per year.
In addition to Westwood, Eversource has built three other canopy style solar facilities at its service centers in Plymouth, New Bedford and East Springfield.
Eversource is on target to have 17 new universal solar facilities across the commonwealth, delivering clean power by year's end, with two more slated to go online in 2019.
Upon completion, the solar facilities will increase the amount of solar power produced by Eversource in Massachusetts to 70 megawatts. The company's new facilities will represent a significant reduction in greenhouse emissions, the equivalent to taking over 6,000 cars off the road per year.
