Three Quebec municipalities in the Papineau MRC join the Electric Circuit

April 14, 2015

The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce that partnership agreements have been signed with the municipalities of Chénéville, Thurso and Namur. These agreements, which are the result of an initiative spearheaded by the regional county municipality of Papineau, call for the commissioning of three public charging stations on its territory. The charging stations will be commissioned by spring 2015 on the following sites:

  • Chénéville: parc DoRéMi parking lot, rue D'Youville (1 station);
  • Namur: salle communautaire parking lot, 535, route 323 (1 station);
  • Thurso: Metro grocery store/Caisse Populaire Desjardins parking lot, 325 rue Victoria (1 station).

"The Papineau MRC is the land of green gold and the stations fully reflect this development vision. Moreover, this is a philosophy that we would also like to apply to our green regional industrial park. We want to promote the use of renewable energies in order to preserve our wealth of resources for future generations", said Paulette Lalande, prefect of the MRC and Mayor of Plaisance.

"We are very pleased to welcome the first three municipalities of the Papineau MRC to the Electric Circuit", said France Lampron, Director - Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec, speaking on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. "By choosing to offer a charging service to their residents and electric vehicle drivers passing through the area, these municipalities will further enhance the Electric Circuit's offering in the Outaouais region, which already has 20 stations in Gatineau as well as a station at the Fairmount Le Château Montebello Hotel."
