In 2021, the Government of Yukon installed seven new electric vehicle fast chargers in communities across the Yukon, expanding the territory's existing electric vehicle-charging network from five chargers to 12.
Electric vehicles can now be fast charged in Teslin, Whitehorse, Carmacks, Pelly Crossing, Mayo and Dawson City. The fast chargers in Stewart Crossing and Watson Lake will be available for public use in the coming weeks.
In 2022, the Government of Yukon, in partnership with the Government of Canada, will be investing in an additional seven fast chargers to be installed across the territory. This will bring the total network of electric vehicle chargers in the Yukon to 19 by the end of the year.
Investing in the Yukon's roadways to support low carbon transportation, such as electric vehicles, is a Government of Yukon commitment under Our Clean Future: A Yukon strategy for climate change, energy and a green economy.

- The Government of Yukon is implementing $1.56 million in fast chargers for electric vehicles across the Yukon over 10 years.
- The Government of Yukon is investing $970,000 and Natural Resources Canada is investing $595,000 from its Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment initiative to install 14 fast chargers.
- The first five existing fast chargers are located in Carcross, Haines Junction, Marsh Lake, and Whitehorse.
- This project supports Our Clean Future's action T4 to have electric infrastructure available in all road accessible communities by 2027.
