Bluestream Offshore B.V. ("Bluestream"), a subsea division of leading energy solutions business OEG Energy Group Ltd ("OEG"), has been awarded a contract by Equinor and Polenergia for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of a corrosion protection system for the wind turbine generator foundations of the Baltyk 2 & 3 offshore wind farms in Poland.
The award, which was secured in partnership with CORROSION, is for the delivery of an Impressed Current Cathodic Protection ("ICCP") system and the co-developed ICCP-Subsea Assembly Method ("SAM") to protect 100 monopile foundations.
The ICCP-SAM is specifically designed to remotely install ICCP anodes on monopile foundations of all sizes, anywhere on the foundation and even in the roughest ocean conditions. It is extremely compact, can be deployed without divers and is easily transported with minimal resources from the topside of the offshore foundation.
As the contract holder, Bluestream is responsible for the overall project performance overseeing the offshore installation, which is carried out using a DP-2 walk-to-work vessel and topside and ROV personnel. To support this, CORROSION has been appointed as the key partner for the design and fabrication of the ICCP systems.
