Global Wind Energy Council Named Finalist and Runner-Up for Prestigious Equality in Energy Transitions Organizational Leadership Award

October 14, 2024

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) has been recognised as a finalist for the Organizational Leadership Award at the 2024 Equality in Energy Transitions (EIET) Awards, an initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial. This recognition highlights GWEC's unwavering commitment to advancing gender equality and promoting a more inclusive energy sector, particularly through its impactful Women in Wind Global Leadership Program.

The Organizational Leadership Award celebrates organizations that have made significant strides in creating opportunities for women and fostering a culture of inclusion. This award goes beyond individual achievements, recognizing the power of collective action and the influence of organizations in challenging industry norms and shaping a more diverse and equitable energy landscape.

GWEC's recognition as a finalist and runner-up for the Organizational Leadership Award is a reflection of the transformative work being done by its Women in Wind Global Leadership Program, a unique initiative designed to accelerate the careers of women in the wind industry through mentorship, skills development, and advocacy. This program exemplifies GWEC's commitment to developing a pipeline of female talent in the renewable energy sector and creating a global network of future women leaders in wind. By empowering women and providing a platform for them to share their expertise and contributions, the program is helping to reshape the industry's approach to diversity and inclusion

"GWEC is honoured to be named a finalist and runner-up for the Organizational Leadership Award. This accolade is a reflection of our team's dedication to driving meaningful change and ensuring that the wind energy sector is a space where everyone can thrive.
