Romania's Vienna Energy has awarded a 25 million euro EPC contract for a 45 MWp solar park.

Romanian renewable energy developer Vienna Energy Forta Naturala, a subsidiary of the Austrian utility Wien Energie Group, has signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract valued at 25 million euros ($29.3 million) for a 45 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Romania.

The solar project, situated in the central commune of Sancel in Alba County, has applied for funding through the EU Modernisation Fund, as stated in a press release by Vlasceanu & Partners. The identity of the EPC contractor has not been revealed.

"This mandate is part of the ambitious renewable energy strategy of Vienna Energy Forta Naturala SRL, which involves developing several photovoltaic power plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS) throughout Romania," Vlasceanu & Partners remarked.

Founded in 2008, Vienna Energy Forta Naturala is dedicated to developing and integrating technologies for renewable energy initiatives, spotting greenfield opportunities, and launching projects from the ground up.
