Sweden Green Building Awards, which rewards sustainable building in Sweden, has given the award for innovation and collaboration on sustainable development of engineering projects (completed project) to Sjisjka wind farm - Jämtkraft, OX2 and Skanska.
Sjisjka wind farm in Gällivare Municipality was inaugurated in autumn 2012 and today the 30 wind turbines produce green renewable electricity sufficient for 43,000 households. Through a unique collaboration, OX2, Skanska and Jämtkraft succeeded to build one of the largest land-based parks in Sweden in an inaccessible place, with an extremely short construction season and harsh climate.
