Fervo Energy is honored to have been named the #1 company on TIME's 2026 list of America's Top GreenTech Companies. This significant recognition reflects our commitment and hard work to accelerate geothermal development and meet surging energy demand with clean, firm power.
Now in its third year, the ranking - developed by TIME in partnership with Statista - recognizes 250 companies across the United States based on an independent evaluation of environmental impact, innovation, and financial strength. Selected from a broad pool of applicants nationwide, the companies recognized are "developing innovative and commercially viable solutions that also have a positive environmental impact," according to TIME. Fervo's approach to enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), including horizontal drilling, AI-enabled drilling and exploration, advanced reservoir engineering, and fiber optic sensing, demonstrates how proven technologies can be applied in new ways to deliver reliable, zero-emission power.
This recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the company. Construction continues as scheduled at Cape Station, which, once online, is expected to become the world's largest enhanced geothermal project by capacity. With the first phase on track to deliver first power in 2026, Fervo is moving from demonstration to deployment to meet customers' growing needs in delivering firm power at scale.
Being named #1 also underscores the growing role of next-generation geothermal in the U.S. energy mix. Fervo is proud to stand alongside a broader ecosystem of innovators working to build the infrastructure, technology, and scale required for a zero-emission energy future.
