On 11 August 2025, Innargi and Geofizyka Torun will begin seismic surveys to assess the potential of geothermal resources in Lodz and the surrounding area. Geothermal energy could provide up to approximately 200 MW of energy per year.
In the first half of August, seismic surveys will begin in Lodz to provide information on the geothermal potential of the city and its surroundings. The research is part of a project launched in October 2024 by Veolia Energia Polska, Veolia Energia Lodz, the City of Lodz and Innargi. Its aim is to use renewable geothermal energy in the Lodz district heating system. The research will provide detailed knowledge that will form the basis for further work on this project.
