An important milestone has been reached for the closed-loop project in the state capital of Hanover: a comprehensive 2D seismic campaign was carried out in the Hanover area between March 21 and April 10, 2025.
The specialist company DMT GROUP collected seismic data at over 2,500 measuring points along a 50-kilometre-long route - with the help of more than 10,000 geophones.
The data obtained is now being transferred into a detailed geological model and will form the basis for the final planning of the boreholes.
Together with enercity, the project team is working on the heat transition and has taken another important step towards decarbonising the district heating network of the city of Hanover with this campaign.
