On March 25th, Vienna, the International Geothermal Association (IGA) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) formalized a new Memorandum of Understanding to drive the global geothermal industry forward together. Why it matters: To scale geothermal, we must align across the value chain from drilling innovation to clear policy frameworks.
This MoU marks a big step in that direction. Key commitments include: Advocating for favorable, standardized permitting and licensing systems to unlock growth Sharing best practices and technical knowledge to build consistency across the industry Engaging regulators and legislators to align laws with the realities of geothermal development Promoting each other's work and ensuring collaboration at annual events.
