We're excited to share news of an extended collaboration with SOCAR Green to drive geothermal exploration in Azerbaijan. Leveraging its extensive experience in regional-scale projects, a team from SLB's GeothermEx geothermal consulting services has been collaborating with SOCAR Green to assess the potential of promising geothermal areas in the Karabagh region.
The Istisu Valley, Garagol, and Zuar Spring were identified to have significant potential for geothermal development and an exploration program designed. This new collaboration expands on that initial work. SLB will provide comprehensive technical support across all phases of SOCAR Green's geothermal projects, including reconnaissance exploration, prefeasibility studies, feasibility assessments, detailed design, construction, operation, and future expansion.
The agreement is a major step toward unlocking Azerbaijan's vast geothermal potential. By harnessing this clean and renewable energy source, together we can contribute to a more sustainable energy future for the region and beyond.
