On November 14, 2024, we celebrated the inauguration of our first demonstrator in the UK, joined by partners, industry leaders, academics, and policymakers.
Fifty partners invited to discover Celsius Energy's solution
This project embodies our ambition to deploy a simple, renewable, and easily scalable heating and cooling geothermal solution in the UK. The demonstrator offers local stakeholders a tangible experience of our technology, providing an inspiring model to transform the way we heat and cool buildings.
The event began with a site tour, followed by a dynamic panel discussion exploring the potential of shallow geothermal energy to sustainably reshape the UK's energy landscape:
- Cindy Demichel (CEO & Co-founder, Celsius Energy): A retrospective on Celsius Energy's successes in France and the United States.
- Parth Mehta (Director, Plan Zero Consulting, Mitie): Accelerating decarbonization in large buildings and industry through public partnerships.
- Prof. Tim Green (Director of Sustainability, Imperial College London): Sustainable campuses and the decarbonization of UK networks.
- Anne Murrell (CEO, UK GEOPower): Financial challenges in geothermal projects and the importance of attracting investors.
- Andy O'Brien (Co-Director, Bristol Energy Cooperative): The role of local cooperatives in low-carbon heat networks.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners for joining us in celebrating this milestone. This remarkable event signals a strong momentum for geothermal energy within the UK's ecosystem.
