Base offers a simple, all-in-one energy plan that includes a whole-home backup battery no solar required, though fully compatible for homes that do. The feature lets a traditional portable generator plug directly into the Base battery system, enabling it to either power the entire home or recharge the battery during an extended outage. This integration can provide multi-day protection when the grid goes down. Interested homeowners can add the Generator Recharge Port for future installations.
Base's expansion into Houston builds on its rapid growth across Texas. The company now serves homeowners in Greater Houston, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the counties north of Austin. Its partnership with Lennar continues to scale aggressively across these regions, while utility collaborations with GVEC and Bandera Electric Cooperative showcase new models for grid resiliency. To date, Base has raised more than $270 million from leading investors to accelerate this statewide expansion and reinforce the Texas grid.
To support this growth, the company has opened a new office and warehouse in Katy, built a local team of more than 30 employees, and plans to expand further in the coming months.
