Half a million charging points in Europe: E.ON charging network reaches a new milestone

July 5, 2024

Highlights

  • E.ON Drive customers can charge in 14 European countries

  • All 500,000 charging points in the roaming network can be operated with the E.ON Drive Comfort app

E.ON has reached another important milestone on the way to building up an extensive charging network for electric cars:

"E.ON Drive customers can now conveniently charge their electric cars at more than half a million charging points - in 14 European countries. Range anxiety is no longer an issue today and even longer cross-border journeys are not a problem with an electric car. This is how we are advancing the energy transition in transportation," explains Filip Thon, CEO of E.ON Energie Deutschland.

The E.ON charging network already stretches from Norway to Italy and from the UK to Poland, while further countries are planned.

The E.ON Drive Comfort app makes it easy and convenient to find charging stations, including their live occupancy status, and to start the charging process. Filter options help to search for specific charging stations, for example only fast charging stations. The app can be used to pay at all charging stations operated by E.ON and its roaming partners - the respective charging prices can always be viewed transparently in the app. At charging stations operated by E.ON, EV drivers charge with 100 percent green electricity. The E.ON Drive on-the-go charging tariff is tailor-made for drivers who regularly use public charging points with their electric car.

E.ON supports individuals and companies in the transition to sustainable driving with a 360° charging offer. This includes charging in public, wallboxes for the home, also combined with solar systems, as well as comprehensive solutions for companies.
