The Government of Yukon is expanding the clean transportation rebates to include commercial medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles. The government is also adding boats, all-terrain vehicles and other modes of electric transportation.
Yukoners can now get up to $2,500 in rebates based on battery size for alternative electric transportation options such as electric boats, motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles. Rebates of up to $10,000 are now available for commercial electric vehicles such as pick-ups and utility vans that meet medium-duty class 2B criteria and above.
The Government of Yukon has also doubled the rebate amount available for Level 2 electric vehicle chargers. Yukoners and Yukon businesses can receive up to $1,500 in rebates when installing Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations at home and at work.
These incentives are additions to the growing suite of clean transportation rebates available under the government's Our Clean Future climate strategy.

These updates fulfil two actions announced in December 2023 as part of the Our Clean Future climate strategy:
- T30 - Introduce additional rebates for low-speed electric vehicles and electric vehicles that support access to the land by 2025.
- T33 - Begin providing a rebate for medium-duty electric vehicles by 2024.

As of January 1, 2024, 326 light-duty zero-emission vehicles and 16 medium and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles are registered in the territory.

As of January 1, 2024, there have been 30 residential and 33 commercial Level 2 chargers rebated through the Good Energy rebates program.

As of January 25, 2024, a regulation under the Public Utilities Act allows the Yukon private sector, First Nations governments, development corporations and municipalities to charge a fee for accessing electric vehicle charging stations.

Rebates of up to 75 per cent are available for businesses and non-profit organizations to install level 2 chargers, and of up to 90 per cent for First Nations and municipalities.

To date, the Government of Yukon has installed 19 direct current fast charging stations across the Yukon, making all road-accessible communities accessible by electric vehicles.
