Newfoundland Power is pleased to announce the selected projects for EnviroFest 2025, an annual initiative that supports environmental projects making a positive impact in communities across the province.
This year, five community-led projects have been selected for funding and hands-on support:
- Town of Mount Carmel-Mitchell's Brook-St. Catherine's - Mount Carmel Community Garden Improvement/Inclusivity Initiative (Mount Carmel) The project will improve accessibility in the community garden.
- Town of Terrenceville - Our Gathering Place (Terrenceville) A new gathering area will be developed as a space for community connection.
- Town of Centreville-Wareham-Trinity - Eco Loo for Black's Brook Park (Centreville- Wareham-Trinity) The project will install a clean, sustainable and eco-friendly restroom facility.
- Youth 2000 Centre - Community Youth Garden (Grand Falls-Windsor) An accessible garden for youth and families, promoting learning, food growth, and outdoor activity.
- Bishop Feild Elementary - Bishop Feild Elementary Playground Greening (St. John's) Enhancements include improved drainage and the planting of trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers to create a greener space.
Newfoundland Power is celebrating 28 years of EnviroFest, the cornerstone of the company's community-based Environmental Commitment Program. This year's events will be held from June 2-6, 2025.
