With the warm summer months on the horizon, Eversource is reminding customers of the various options available to help them manage their energy bills with financial assistance, flexible payment plans and energy efficiency programs. The company is hosting a free in-person event for residents in Waterbury on Saturday, April 12th. Eversource customer care representatives will provide details on programs to reduce unpaid balances with affordable monthly payments, protection from service disconnection, extended payment plans and no- and low-cost energy efficiency programs available to help lower monthly energy bills. Enrollment and participation in a payment plan prevents service shutoff - even after the winter moratorium ends - and allows customers to catch up on their energy bill.
"While we don't control the energy markets that drive the cost of electricity, particularly those facing difficult financial circumstances, and we want to help if they're struggling to pay their energy bill," said Eversource Vice President of Customer Operations and Assistance Programs Jess Cain. "This is a chance for customers to talk in person with a customer care representative about the variety of programs we offer that can help them manage their energy bill and reduce energy usage and help customers determine if they're eligible for energy assistance."
Eversource encourages customers to enroll in one of its payment plans or assistance programs if they need help with their energy bill.
The free bill help event will be held
Saturday, April 12, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the North End Recreation Center at 268 North Main Street in Waterbury. Customers should bring their energy bills and proof of income or benefits, i.e., pay stubs, budget sheets, or assistance letters. Customers can sign up and learn more about the programs available at
