First Public Hydrogen (FPH2) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert M. Hertzberg to its Board of Directors. A former Speaker of the California State Assembly and Majority Leader of the California State Senate, Hertzberg is a globally recognized leader in energy policy, climate solutions, and infrastructure development. With decades of experience shaping environmental and economic policies at the state, national, and international levels, Hertzberg brings a wealth of expertise to FPH2.

"It is a tremendous honor to join the board of this forward-looking organization. Clean hydrogen has the potential to play a transformative role in California's energy transition and contribute to global decarbonization efforts. Across my work in California and on the international stage, I have seen firsthand the importance of accelerating clean energy adoption, creating jobs, and improving air quality. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members to advance FPH2's mission of bridging the gap between hydrogen suppliers and users," said Robert Hertzberg.

"Robert's expansive international leadership and deep expertise in state and global energy markets make him an invaluable addition to the FPH2 board," said R. Rex Parris, Chairman of First Public Hydrogen. "As FPH2 expands, his experience working with international energy organizations, multinational institutions, and government leaders will be critical in advancing hydrogen adoption and infrastructure development."

Hertzberg has been a key player in tackling complex policy challenges, from brokering California's largest water deals to advancing groundbreaking environmental legislation. His global leadership in renewable energy has earned him widespread recognition, including the United Nations Global Energy Award and the World Bank Award for Innovation in Energy Policy. In addition, he was named one of the "50 People Who Could Save the Planet" by The Guardian (UK) and a "Top 100 Low Carbon Pioneer" by CNBC Business. Between his tenure in public office, Hertzberg chaired multiple renewable energy companies and advised clean energy development in several regions around the globe.
