DP CleanTech Signs Second Biomass Project With CEC Group's Renewable Energy Subsidiary

August 28, 2017

CEC subsidiary CESEC's 1st biomass project in An'ping, China has been successfully connected to the grid - leading to a subsequent contract to supply CESEC's 2nd project in Xingtang. CESEC is the renewable energy subsidiary of state owned company CEC. The Xingtang project is expected to start later this year, and will create jobs as well as support longer term economic growth and environmental improvements in the region. Reflecting the agreement signed between DP and CESEC, DP will be CESEC's exclusive biomass solution provider for a further 2 projects, providing CESEC with the most advanced technology for biomass to energy production.

The latest project is located in Xingtang Economic Zone, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. CESEC is the sole investor with a total investment of 520 million CNY. The planned annual electricity output is up to 240 Mwh with 225,000 tons of industrial steam produced annually. The project will supply distributed heating to an area of 1.3milllion m2. The project is designed to consume up to 300,000 tons of agricultural and forestry waste. For Xingtang, DP will supply its most advanced 1*130tph HTHP boiler and water cooled vibrating grate solution; fuel handling system; the latest generation fuel feeding equipment and other auxiliaries.

In June 2016, CESEC and DP CleanTech Group embarked on a strategic cooperation agreement to develop business interests and a portfolio of investments in renewable energy projects. DP's expertise across the value chain from groundbreaking technology R&D to strategic consultancy and maintenance contracts will provide CESEC a platform for the development of the most advanced biomass and renewable power plants in China.

DP Group's CEO, Simon Parker commented that "We are delighted with the successful collaboration to date, as it is laying the groundwork for further cooperation across the renewable industry and potentially other, related projects.  The timing of CESEC's entry into the China's biomass industry is strategically astute, as the industry is now more mature.  DP pioneered industry standards and growth in China, and continues to excel in both performance and innovative development of the most advanced technology. With DP's extensive experience in over 60 fuel types, and our ongoing investments in groundbreaking waste to energy technologies - such as gasification - CESEC is assured of being at the forefront of this dynamic industry".
