Natural Power completes Old Mill Wind Farm

November 29, 2016

Construction of Old Mill Wind Farm in County Monaghan, Ireland, for which Natural Power provided owner's engineer services has been completed. The wind farm was energised at the beginning of September and has been exporting power since November. The site comprises six GE 2.85-103 turbines with an installed capacity of 17.1MW and is owned by Belgian company, Storm.

David Dunne, Construction Project Manager for the project and based at Natural Power's Dublin office, said: "As owner's engineer on this project, we have worked closely with Storm throughout an extended pre-construction phase and with all stakeholders through a challenging construction phase to successfully reach commercial operations. As our Irish construction portfolio continues to grow, this latest completion further establishes Natural Power's credentials as a trusted technical adviser in the Irish renewable energy market."

Old Mill Wind Farm is just one of seven construction/owners' engineer contracts that the Dublin office is currently managing on behalf of a range of top clients including NTR, Impax Asset Management and Element Power.

Filip Leonard at Storm, said: "We selected Natural Power for this job based on experience and local presence. During the project, Natural Power stayed on top of things and proved to be the reliable, pragmatic partner we needed to materialise the wind farm. The enthusiasm and continued engagement of the team contributed to the successful completion of the project."
