Description
Purpose To support the SMUD's energy risk evaluations utilizing fundamental and market analyses of power and gas commodity within the Western Energy market. This position will help in developing short and medium term market views to assist in energy portfolio management; help develop and maintain all energy risk management related databases for use in fundamental and market analyses. and assist in monitoring and tracking energy market trends.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
This position is focused on entry (Level "E") or journey level (Level "J"). Level "E" is the entry level where incumbents acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the task associated with Energy Risk Management, The incumbent is promoted to level J upon demonstrating the required skills and knowledge. Level E assists in conducting professional level work assignments in a major functional or technical area while learning to assume full journey level responsibilities and to exercise increasingly independent judgment and discretion within established broad guidelines.
Level J serves as a journey level resource in a relevant professional discipline; works independently on projects of minor to moderate complexity; exercises independent judgment and discretion within established broad guidelines.
