The Regional Operations Manager provides leadership, supervision, and technical expertise to support successful completion of organizational objectives. This position is responsible for the high-level success and productivity of a business group, including responsibility for planning department goals and directing employees toward achieving end results. Manage multiple Area Managers at either multiple customer sites or manage a large number of Area Managers one large customer.
Customer Relations
- Achieve operational objectives in revenue, cost, margins, customer service, and service delivery
- Work closely with sales and leadership staff to develop and grow business with current and prospective customers
- Work closely with customers to achieve objectives and further the customer and Novinium connection
People Management
- Provide strong leadership to keep employees motivated, resolve conflicts and make timely operational decisions
- Manage multiple Area Managers and/or crews in multiple locations
- Review and approve time for crew members & other labor groups
- Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and members of Regional team
- Conduct organizational leadership reviews
- Participate in establishing a vision for functional area and link Region with company's strategic goals
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed
- Interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to organizational policies and procedures
- Advise supervisors or staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems
- Manage new hire onboarding
- Positively impact employee relations and any employee issues or concerns, raising up concerns as appropriate
- Make recommendations to hire, discipline and promote employees within the region
- Develop or approve, and implement project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors, etc.
Project Management
- Support and provide input to develop strategies, goals and objectives specific to project execution at each project phase
- Monitor Area Manager developed and managed project plans and schedules; scopes of work
- Document and resolve subcontractor billing issues with assistance from Area Managers
- Assist the business development team in responding to customer meetings, requests for proposal and bid process
- Develop a strong working relationship with the Vice President of Operations in the region and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule
- Advise and contribute to budget and forecast inputs
- Maintain a budget for the region and ensure adherence to the budget
- Create schedules, order supplies and write reports as needed
- Perform Pre-job walks in coordination with the Area Managers
- Monitor opportunities in strengthening the supply chain
- Close jobs and conduct end of project reviews
- Detect issues early and mitigate project risks
- Monitor, train and ensure Area Managers insist Team Leads effectively gather and record field data into data tracking system
- Know contractual agreements on projects
Project Controls
- Assume financial responsibility for project including accurate, timely and relevant reporting to stakeholders
- Facilitate invoice payments from clients and to subcontractors
- Review and approve subcontractor billing
- Prepare client and subcontractor change orders
- Monitor, control and report on the financial performance of projects
Job Specific Knowledge
- Knowledgeable of Novinium products, processes, methods and technology
- Fiscal control, budget forecasting, standardized metrics analysis and understanding of what achieving project specific performance plans entails
- Leadership and team building skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in related field, such as Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Science or General Business Administration preferred.
- Six years of management experience may substitute for education.
- Direct management experience in construction, utilities or manufacturing operations and multi-site distributed workforce service operations
- Experience managing multiple projects
- Experience with working in diverse construction environments preferred
- Previous experience managing P&L
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability and willingness to travel, up to 80%
