Responsibilities
Our growing business is in need of a highly motivated Manager of Operations Finance with strong accounting skills to be a key contributor within the Accounting & Finance function of a publicly traded manufacturing company.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP principles
- Performs monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
- Supervises Staff Accountant and Senior Accounts Payable Analyst
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
- Works with direct reports to establish goals for each year, monitors progress and provides coaching, as needed, to enhance the professional development of staff
- Directs monthly, quarterly, and end of year month-end closing activities to ensure all deadlines are met
- Conducts journal entry review and audit
- Produces error free accounting reports and presents results
- Provides analysis of overhead budget and production variances, labor utilization, and inventory transactions
- Collaborates with Corporate Accounting managers to support overall department goals and objectives
- Provides financial support for all manufacturing, supply chain and operations departments
- Researches and interprets accounting policies and applies observations and recommendations to operational issues
- Assists in development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
- Ensures compliance with existing internal controls and identifies/implements new processes and controls as necessary
- Assists with quarterly/ annual audits and maintains SOX narratives for areas of responsibility
- Leads, in conjunction with the Supply Chain group, the annual wall-to-wall physical inventory
- Supports the VP, Operations Finance in the preparation of the Company's annual budget and strategic plan
- Supports the VP, Commercial Finance in development of project financial proformas and various financing due diligence activities, as needed
