Job Description
The role of PDM Specialist requires regular and consistent interaction with customers, generally in both a pre-sales and post-sales capacity.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in SOLIDWORKS PDM software and related applications
- Provide SOLIDWORKS PDM demonstrations to prospective or existing customers
- Participate in all pre-sales activities including customer calls, on-site visits, requirements gathering, internal sales strategy discussions, etc.
- Deliver SOLIDWORKS PDM Administrator and User level training
- Deliver SOLIDWORKS PDM implementation and consulting services including software installation and custom configuration, upgrades, best practices mentoring, etc.
- General customer care and support
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other technical related degree preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Required:
- Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office Products
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Strong problem solving, analytical ability and attention to detail
- Must be customer-focused and service-oriented
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills and technologies and adapt to changing environments
- Willing and able to travel to customer sites locally and occasional long distance trips
Ideal Experience:
- Experience with 3-D Mechanical CAD systems, preferably SOLIDWORKS
- Knowledge of common engineering/product development practices and terms
- Experience with CAD based PDM software such as SOLIDWORKS PDM, Workgroup PDM, DB Works, Autodesk Vault, Intralink, Windchill, Teamcenter, etc.
Beneficial but not required:
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Networking and Internet services
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Server
- Experience with PLM, MRP, ERP systems
- Programming experience (Visual Basic, .Net, etc.) helpful
- Microsoft, Cisco or other certifications: MCTS, CCNA, MCITP, MCSE, etc.
- SOLIDWORKS certifications: CSWE, CSWP, CSWS-D, CSWP-D, etc.
