Description
Ballard has an immediate opportunity for a Configuration Management Analyst to join the Burnaby team.

The Configuration Management Analyst will be assigned to specific programs and will be responsible for oversight of the Change Management (CM) process and the systematic review and release of engineering product definition data of product related documents.

This position ensures application of organizational CM processes and procedures in accordance with the Ballard Change Management policy of both product-related and non-product related documents through the development life-cycle phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with design personnel to provide task-specific guidance in the areas of Bill of Material (BOM) development and configuration change control
  • Maintain the As-Designed BOM
  • Receiving enterprise change requests and process these for technical review
  • Managing and scheduling the Change Control Board (CCB) process for certain product group
  • Managing the Change Implementation Board (CIB) process for certain product group
  • Processing the release of information associated with change implementations, verifying that continuity is retained
  • Verifying that documents to be released conform to the implementation plan and control process,
  • Maintaining summary of change activity and provides activity reports
  • Striving to minimize the change cycle time
  • Coordinating with Quality Management to ensure engineering document control procedures align with quality control requirements
  • Managing engineering documentation including drawings, bill of material lists and indexes
  • Providing recommendations on product configurations and process designs


Requirements:

  • Relevant diploma or certificate and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be skilled in product release management and have knowledge of database file management, maintenance and security
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple issues at one time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with minimal direct supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and works well with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in Configuration Management
  • Business experience using Oracle's Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or a configuration management tool applied to aspects of engineering development, manufacturing, quality, and production is preferred
  • CMII certification and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems knowledge would be considered an asset
