Detailed Description
Key Accountabilities:
- To plan, coordinate, and conduct comprehensive planning studies to support capital projects required to sustain and supply organic growth within existing service territories.
- Perform technical analysis or studies to support design, construction, infrastructure reliability, water quality and operational optimization including data analysis, hydraulic modeling and cost estimating.
- Work in a team environment and facilitate stakeholder consensus.
Work Environment: Office and field environment.
Education: 4-year degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related technical degree.
Certifications & Licenses: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona; ADEQ Operator Certification is a plus.
Experience: 5 - 8 years of engineering/operations experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, and water/wastewater treatment.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of current trends and technology for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance systems; Basic water/wastewater utility operations and private water utility economics; Familiarity with Arizona and New Mexico regulatory entities and requirements; Familiarity with ArcGIS and hydraulic modeling software.
Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data; organize. Use independent judgment and exercise discretion; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely; excellent analytical, organizational and planning skills. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office software including spreadsheets, presentation and scheduling software. Familiarity with ArcGIS and hydraulic modeling.
Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting and standing in office/desk; frequent reaching, handling paperwork/files, and operating computer and other office equipment; frequent speaking, listening, seeing; occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds.
