Schneider Electric is seeking talented individuals with a strong work ethic to be part of our manufacturing team in Smyrna. We currently have an opportunity for a Fabrication Technician on 2nd shift.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. High school diploma or GED required. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographic area (50 mile radius) will be considered. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen as well as a background check to the satisfaction of the Company. We are seeking candidates with a solid work record of safety, job performance and attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals able to accurately read drawings, tapes, calipers and other measuring devices along with the skills to learn CNC equipment such as Brakes, Amadas, Shears and Whitney equipment. Successful candidates must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Tow motor/fork truck experience is preferred as well as one year of sheet metal fabrication experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee must be able to move or lift objects with both hands while bending or stooping and routinely lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to stand in a small area for extended periods of time.
Starting Pay is $15.06/hr. plus $.45/hr. shift premium for 2nd shift. Wages are based on a step progression scale with the maximum wage rate currently at $19.85/hr. for persons in the position for four or more years.
