Description

Reporting to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering, the successful candidate will provide engineering support to different oil, gas and petrochemical projects within Mechanical Engineering department.

Mechanical Engineering department deals with rotating and static equipment such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, atmospheric storage tanks, piping engineering and  piping stress analysis, industrial and regular building HVAC and other utility and process equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of piping material specifications.
  • Preparation of technical specifications for piping specialty items.
  • Pipe line list.
  • Review piping layout and isometrics.
  • Static and dynamic stress analysis of pressure piping.
  • Preparation of  technical specifications for pipe support.
  • Preparation of piping stress reports.
  • P. Eng. stamping of piping documents.
  • Preparation of piping design registration applications.
  • Technical services related to procurement of piping components such as preparation of requisition and technical bid evaluation.
  • Vendors' documents technical review.
  • Supervision of the piping engineering and stress analysis team within the Mechanical Engineering department.
  • Coordination with other engineering and non-engineering department.
  • Completing the mandatory trainings regarding health, safety, technical knowledge, etc.
  • Site visits.
  • Being self-policing in the work; self-starting and largely self-maintaining.
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering as the minimum requirement.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in piping engineering and piping stress analysis of Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of lead position experience.
  • Licensed in Professional Engineering Ontario.
  • Strong academic knowledge of heat transfer, mechanics of solids, mechanics of fluids, dynamics and mechanical vibration.
  • Strong experience with American Society of Mechanical Engineers Codes (ASME), American Petroleum Institute Standards (API), American National Standards Institute (ANSI),  and National Building Code of Canada (NBCC).
  • Familiar with design registration of pressure piping systems.
  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines and appreciation of the reciprocal effects of the work upon the other project participants.
  • Experienced in multi-office project execution.
  • Familiar with engineering software like  CAESAR II, ANSYS, NozzlePRO, AutoPIPE.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent  English communication skills, both verbal and written.
