Reporting to the Director, Audit and Risk Management, the Consultant, Enterprise Risk Management & Insurance, is accountable for, but not limited to:
- Providing input to the Director, Audit and Risk Management business plans and directions.
- Facilitating workshops with EPCOR business unit management to identify, assess and rank existing and emerging inherent risks and identify mitigating controls.
- Maintaining the register of inherent enterprise risks and mitigating controls and preparing various enterprise risk analyses and reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Assisting with reviewing contracts and competitive bids documents for insurance requirements.
- Assisting with coordinating claim settlements and loss control efforts in response to insurer recommendations claim settlements.
- Ensuring the timely renewal of existing insurance policies, including revising limits as necessary and placing project specific insurance and surety as required.
- Assisting with identifying insurable risks and advising on, negotiating and binding new insurance policies as deemed appropriate.
- Assisting with reviewing insurance policies and endorsements for completeness and accuracy.
- Preparing insurance premium budgets, forecasts and allocations to business units as well as fulfilling any other insurance administration requirements.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in commerce or a business equivalent is required with a professional insurance / risk management designation(s) (CIP/FCIP/CRMA).
- Minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in the insurance / risk management field.
- Working knowledge of Committee of Sponsoring Organizations and / or International Standards Organization ERM standards.
- Experience in the utilities sector (electricity, water, wastewater, natural gas, etc.) would be an asset.
- Able to travel within Canada and to the U.S. Potential travel of 10%.
- Some knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations applicable to the utility industry would be an asset.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills.
