Description
EPCOR Water Canada is currently looking to fill one (1) full-time permanent Senior Storeman position to join the Supply Chain Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, co-ordinating and overseeing all activities at various EPCOR Water locations within Edmonton.

Reporting to the Manager Inventory, Warehousing, and Real Estate, the Senior Storeman position is accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Providing input into the plans and directions of the Manager, Inventory, Warehousing, and Real Estate and ensuring that on-going appropriate relationships are maintained with other team members
  • Developing and maintaining ongoing appropriate relationships with other positions which may include assisting colleagues to resolve issues, coaching and providing feedback on task performance
  • Responding to external stakeholder requests in an appropriate and time sensitive manner
  • Performing the following job duties:
    • Coordinating with other warehouse locations and operations staff
    • Supervising and completing the issuing and transferring of materials
    • Supervising and completing receiving and/or returning of materials
    • Supervising and processing material transactions within the inventory management system(s)
    • Maintaining the accuracy of the stock locator system
    • Supervising and conducting physical counts of inventory and performing adjustment analysis
    • Ensuring that materials are properly issued and transferred and that scrap materials are recycled in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
    • Coordination and execution of Reverse Logistics
  • Ensuring and promoting a safe work environment by conducting the following job duties:
    • Developing safe work / emergency site plans
    • Completing accident / incident / near-miss reports
    • Completing work site inspections
    • Reporting accidents or safety concerns
  •  Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics, including:
    • Cycle count completion, accuracy, and variance
    • Housekeeping
    • Material availability
    • Training compliance
    • Safety metrics
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma or G.E.D.
  • Completion of a minimum of 2 basic inventory and/or warehouse management courses from a recognized institute
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in warehousing
  • Experienced on the operation of a forklift
  • Experience working in and knowledge of warehousing practices
  • Experience working with an inventory management system. Oracle Inventory is preferred.
  • A proven track record of performance and attendance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License, with 6 demerits or less. A Driver Abstract may be required
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand tools and ladders in accordance with EPCOR safety standards
  • Able to meet the physical demands of this position. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Experience in EPCOR Water is an asset

Additionally, these will be considered valuable assets for the successful candidate to possess:

  • Successful completion of a warehousing basic occupational certificate
  • Strong consideration and preference will be given to applicants possessing valid tickets and/or experience with:
    • Forklift certification
    • Transportation of Dangerous Goods
    • WHMIS certification

The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate expertise and a positive track record in performing warehousing duties. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must in order to supplement their strong customer-responsive work ethic. This position requires one to consistently take initiative when responding to customer and co-worker requests and to demonstrate a team-oriented manner when working towards a common goal. The successful applicants must possess keen attention to detail, exercise educated decision making and judgment skills and demonstrate a safety-conscious attitude.

  • A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Wage: $38.82 per hour

Hours of work: 40.0 hours per week, 8.0 hours per day

Location: Rossdale WTP

Successful candidates may be required to use their own vehicle for business related purposes. Reimbursement for these expenses will occur in accordance with EPCOR's Vehicle Allowance Policy.
