Must be Local to Fort McMurray.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the capability to work under the direction of HSE leadership on multiple tasks requiring judgment to resolve problems
- Ensure that training and documentation systems are in order and record all employees training and competency requirements
- Conduct safety inspections, observations, incident investigations, risk assessments, audits and prepare method of statement/reports
- Complying with and enforcing company policies / procedures and adhering to applicable health, safety and environmental regulatory requirements
- Communicates and follows-up with senior management to ensure that corrective action plans are developed and implemented in a timely manner
- Ensure that regular safety meetings are carried out and the proper documentation is completed and logged as per company policy
- Provide HSE orientation to new employees, subcontractors and visitors
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- NCSO designation at a minimum
- Post- secondary education in a related field
- Standard First Aid
Experience:
- 2-4 years' experience in Health & Safety
- 3 + years' experience in industrial construction, open pit/surface mining, pipeline construction/maintenance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in OH&S Legislation, Safety Management Systems and Operational Hazards & Controls within an industrial setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills
- Attention to detail with excellent writing/editing skills
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- A self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- Ability to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
