We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Corporate Communication Specialist.  The successful candidate will develop communications that help the company achieve its corporate objectives and promote the positive perception of Tucson Electric Power, UniSource Energy Services, UNS Energy and other corporate affiliates.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Prepare communications for corporate use on various platforms for internal and internal stakeholders, primarily through accurate, effective writing produced on deadline.
  • This work may include newsletters, speeches, presentations, internal memos, customer letters, project summaries, scripts, press releases website content, social media posts, marketing and advertising materials and bill inserts, among other assignments.
  • Develop familiarity, knowledge and - ultimately - expertise in the company's programs and services to facilitate effective communications.
  • Serve as a corporate spokesperson in communications with external stakeholders, including the news media, with on-camera work and public speaking as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with internal clients develop and deploy communications that help them achieve their goals.
  • Manage the development of graphic design, illustration, photography or other imagery as needed for the development of communications projects, ensuring consistency of message and adherence to graphic standards.
  • Plan and execute effective strategic communications campaigns across multiple platforms to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Monitor communications about the company and prepare appropriate responses as needed on various platforms.
  • Represent the company at public meetings, community service projects and other events as needed.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

(Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)

Corporate Communications Specialist I

Minimum Qualifications:        

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce effective written communications on deadline in forms appropriate for all necessary uses.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint to develop effective communications.
  • Familiarity with effective layout, design and illustration for various platforms. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a major in Communications, Journalism or other field relevant to the position.
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience for a utility or another customer-focused provider of comparably complex programs and services is a plus.

Senior Corporate Communications Specialist

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ten or more years of relevant work experience in communications or public affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce effective written communications on deadline in forms appropriate for all necessary uses.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint to develop effective communications.
  • Familiarity with effective layout, design and illustration for various platforms. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a major in Communications, Journalism or other field relevant to the position.
  • Previous experience for a utility or another customer-focused provider of comparably complex programs and services is a plus.
  • Graphic design, photography or web development skills are a plus.
