Description
Arizona Public Service is seeking a Land Agent II or a Land Agent Senior who will  manage land-related components of projects that have moderate to extensive financial and operational impact across the organizational enterprise.  The Agent will manage and oversee all aspects of land acquisition and/or right of way renewals associated with the construction, operations, maintenance and protection of company's distribution, transmission and communication facilities.  Prepare clear and concise leases, easements, permit applications, releases and other related documents and negotiate such, as needed.  Coordinate with stakeholders who typically include municipal, state and federal government agencies and private land owners.  May be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations including, but not limited to NEPA, ESA, and NHPA; state laws, e.g., Native Plant; local and county requirements; and agency stipulations. Projects can span six months to several years depending on scope.  The Land Agent Ii position may provide project task support for larger projects or projects of great complexity.  The Land Agent Senior will provide project direction, coordinate workflow, and serve as an experience resource for land management and acquisition issues.

Requirements

Land Agent II Minimum Requirements:

AA degree with emphasis in real estate related disciplines and two years' experience in right-of-way acquisitions; or a minimum of  two years related Utility experience in land-related disciplines including Boundary  Control and Legal Principles, and Principles of Right-of-Way Acquisition; knowledge of right-of-way acquisition practices, legal, and real estate principles and practices, and negotiation techniques. Intermediate right-of-way experience preferred.

Senior Land Agent Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS degree with emphasis in real estate related disciplines, Senior designation in IR/WA, or five years of land agent experience and 30 hours of college level real estate courses or equivalent; in-depth knowledge of right-of-way acquisition practices, survey, legal and real estate principles and practices, siting and licensing process and negotiation techniques. Substantial right-of-way experience preferred. 

Our Land Agent will also have demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.  Candidates for the position must have mathematic skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry including a basic working knowledge in a Windows computer environment.  Previous experience with survey and Boundary Control Principles, legal property descriptions, real estate law, utility engineering/specifications and CAD knowledge preferred.

Travel may be required. 

Must have valid Arizona Driver's License.
