If you want to become well versed in proven embedded software development techniques and become comfortable in a professional software development environment then this is the place for you. You will be exposed to a variety of software engineering knowledge areas including: OOD/OOA, full development life cycle, agile methodology, system design, test driven development, test automation, and build and configuration management.
Our goal is to prepare students to compete for an entry-level software positions upon graduation.
Essential Functions:
- Develop C/C++, embedded software solutions in a hard real-time operating system environment.
- Participation in the embedded software quality process i.e. design and code review, developing unit and functional test ware.
- Assist in the setup/configuration of equipment for test/validation purposes.
- In working with a lead Engineer, develop software test plans and procedures.
- Contribute as a team member achieving project deliverables such as but not limited to: providing work scope estimates, conferring with others as necessary, reporting progress, providing technical assistance.
- College sophomore level or above; studying computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering at an accredited 4 year college or university.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Basic knowledge of Windows
- Experience with Object Oriented programming (C++ preferred)
- Basic understanding of circuit theory and digital logic
- Good communications skills, and experience in a team environment are essential
